I very much would like a sequel to your story. I love that Luigi was so worried for Mario due to him dying and how much he was willing to go so far to help his big brother. I can only imagine the fear Mario would go through once he is saved and realized how far Luigi went to save him.

So, I probably won't be writing a sequel to my insane King Boo story (I still can't believe I wrote that, ayyyyyy) anytime soon, just because I really need to get two or three other projects off my plate. (This may end up being a lie, but we'll see how it goes).

This being said...

Mario wouldn't just be afraid...

I think if Mario caught even a whiff of what went down between Luigi and King Boo in that cavern -

He would burn that cavern and any other King Boo hangout down to the ground and bury the ashes under the River Twygz personally.

Because, he's seen kidnappings. Seen Luigi fight and get hurt. Seen his brother brainwashed and possessed by an ancient vessel of the apocalypse and a maniacal, insane jester.

That was bad enough.

But I would argue that the kind of direct humiliation done to his brother by King Boo - all for mind and power games, all for a pageantry of drawn out revenge - would be the thing to trip Mario's "kill" switch. It's more than personal now. And he's going to make King Boo pay, Brooklyn-style.

I honestly could see him storming into E. Gadd's lab, demanding he build the biggest, most menacing (most painful) ghost hunting machine ever (and from what we know about E. Gadd's roulette wheel of a moral compass, he'd probably be into this) and then go crashing through King Boo's door to fuck shit up. Because no one does that to his baby brother and lives to talk about it. (Hell, he'd probably recruit Bowser to come with him, just for the extra firepower. You know ol' Bowsie would leap at the idea of state-sanctioned destruction).

And after the last embers of violent devastation have settled, Mario is going to have a long, long talk with his brother about self-preservation. Because Mario is not going to let him do anything like that ever again.
